Hunger Games: I Miss You

For those of you who have not read the Hunger Games, please go out and read them ... NOW!

Don't feel stupid that they are in the Young Adult section of the store/library, just get over it and read them.

For those of you who have read the trilogy, here's my question to you:

GALE or PEETA?

I honestly miss the characters. I have been entrenched in the books for the past couple of weeks, devouring every page, getting way less sleep than I should with two young boys who still wake up for some reason or another most nights.  I finally finished the last page of the third book last night during Arthur... ("yes, honey you can watch one last show while mommy finishes this last page").

Immediately upon closing the book, I was sad. Happy at the final ending, but sad that I didn't get to read more about the characters and hear more about what happens next. I guess that is the sign of a good story/series.  The only consolation is the movies are coming soon - in less than a year - and I really hope they don't screw them up (cough ... Twilight).

Anyways, still time to go out and grab them if you have some holidays you're squeezing in during August.

P.S. I am Peeta all the way!!

  1. I have heard these are great. I am finishing up my job next week and am looking forward to a fall of indulgence with books. I just finished House of Sand and Fog (first book I picked up in months!) and was reminded of my love to read. Thanks for the suggestion. Ha, totally was a sucker for Twilight :)

  2. I love love loved this series!!!!! I have been a complete "groupie" counting down the days until the movie premiere in March. Thank you for encouraging people to read this series, because it was just so fantastic. I'm planning a group event to see the movie, so at least I know you and I will be in attendance! I got totally lost in this series!!! I would be Peeta for sure!!

  3. I was totally on Team Peeta but I'm not digging the casting of Peeta so I might switch my alliance to Gale when I watch the movies.

  4. Allison/Anonymous: So glad that I am not the only one that became mildly obsessed with this series. Anonymous: that's the tough thing about going to the movies ... they rarely cast the characters exactly how you would picture them. Hopefully they nail the chemistry, that's what will be so important for me. May be tough though because she explains so much about what she is feeling through her personal thoughts and narrative. Not sure how they will send that across in the movie.
Allison: Totally in on the group event. Will try to get my husband to read in the mean time :)
Jenn: what are you waiting for. Lots of this summer left and you just finished your job. And sleep, it's only sleep! have fun and let me know what you think.

    :)

Thank you so much for the comments ladies. I don't get many and you made my day !!
