Writing To You On A Sugar Low

So there you have it, Halloween has come and gone and the candy is still sitting in my cupboard.  That's one of the bad things about having younger children - there's no way they can possibly eat all of their own candy and, as any good, responsible parent, you must assist them in making the pile disappear.

So, does the candy have as much of an effect on your butt, thighs and stomach if you ingest equivalent to one week's pigging out in forty eight hours? Perhaps it is best just to eat as much as I can, get grossed out with myself and then swear to exercise and eat healthy asap (hence the Tae Bo workout this morning).  The alternative?  Slowly eating away at the bowl, one here, one there, four here, four over there, a few weeks go by, still eating and no repulsion due to extreme over eating and more calories in the long run. I think I embraced the first approach very well this year.

My two little guys were a dragon and a lamb. Hubby and I broke out our super hero costumes for trick and treating.
Sorry about the picture quality on this one!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I know some of you are going to moan and groan over my next statement, but I am so ready for getting in the Christmas spirit! Unlike Americans, we have already had the whole turkey event and we're full steam ahead to December 25th.

It is the first year in quite a few years that I am not pregnant, haven't just had a baby and am not renovating so I have some energy to actually enjoy and embrace the ho! ho! ho! this year.

Broke out a Christmas colouring book for the kids this morning in fact.

How are you feeling about Christmas this year? Ready? Call you in six weeks?  Excited? Let me know.

P.S. Stay tuned ... this week I am hoping to share some easy and delicious family recipes and give you a sneak peak at a table my husband and I just completed ... from scratch.

  1. omg that costume is AWESOME!! I went as Juno - nothing like seeing people from work with a preggo belly to get people talking (big office means some people think it might be real!).

I'm with you about Christmas - although I am not ready to start decorating yet :-)

  2. Thanks. Got the costume a couple of years ago and it is great, especially with the wig. Too bad I didn't have a full length shot as it is complete with skirt/bodice, thigh-high boot covers, arm guards and belt! Good luck with the rumours.

  3. I am already feeling festive too. I started my shopping weeks ago, and have been looking at different decorating ideas as well. I might try to hold off until the weekend of the town parade, but it might be hard!
